The Algarve, Portugal
May 2007
This was my first time in Portugal and a very nice surprise. We didn't plan to go on holiday - that is, I didn't! Laura had other plans almost as soon as I sat foot in England she practically dragged me to a travel agency! I'm glad she did as else I wouldn't have seen this part of the world. I've promised Silvia that next time I will go to Lisbon. Something to look to forward to. What I've seen on television and in travel guides it looks like a beautiful city full of hidden treasures + my friend Silvia is there so you can't beat that! =)
Enjoy the scenery!

On a walk
I've always wondered wether it is a fly in the middle of the flower. I should know seeing as I took the photo, but I simply cannot remember. What do you think?

Beautiful scenery in Portugal & in the middle of the flower looks like something caught in somekind of web, but doesn't look like a fly. Thanks for visiting my blog & Happy Sunday:)
What a beautiful place. I'd love to visit :)
There's definitely something in the middle of the flower, but I'm not sure it's a fly. Beautiful pictures, though. Thanks for visiting my site.
Beautiful colors in your shots. There is a bug in the first flower photo but it's not a fly. It's located at about 11 o'clock. I don't remember my botany, but I think the dark thing in the middle is part of the flower. Looks like you had a lot of sunshine in Portugal. Enjoy SS.
Aww, Isa! You've brightened my day for sure and you have no idea how much I needed it. Thank you so much :)
You're very welcome Silvia :o)
I wouldn't have said it if you weren't the person you are so really you should thank yourself =)
you have a wonderful post! Portugal is a nice place to visit, wish I can visit there too, nice flower beautiful..
Lovely pretty flowers!! Portugal is beautiful!
I am pretty sure your flower picture is of a wild carrot also known as queen anne's lace. The center flower is usually pink or purple. (Daucus carota) But I am in North America, but its supposed to be introduced from eurasia, so it may be the exact same species.
Wow, I was happy to see my country here. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and that you'r eplanning to visit Lisbon.
