Watery Wednesday: Greece

Πάργα, Greece
August 2007
I'd like to tell you a pretty story around this picture but I don't know what to say! I took this photo while standing on the castle wall. It looks more like a postcard, doesn't it? It almost too pretty! Do you see the church on the tiny island? It's called Panagia Lihada and it's the home to the miraculous icon of Panagia, the mother of Jesus Christ. Panagia means Most Holy. Every year on August the 15th they celebrate the Dormination (Assumption) of our Virgin Mary. Many a couple gets married here and who can blame them in this little piece Greece of heaven? :o)

Scenic Sunday & Today's Flowers: Portugal

The Algarve, Portugal
May 2007

This was my first time in Portugal and a very nice surprise. We didn't plan to go on holiday - that is, I didn't! Laura had other plans almost as soon as I sat foot in England she practically dragged me to a travel agency! I'm glad she did as else I wouldn't have seen this part of the world. I've promised Silvia that next time I will go to Lisbon. Something to look to forward to. What I've seen on television and in travel guides it looks like a beautiful city full of hidden treasures + my friend Silvia is there so you can't beat that! =)

Enjoy the scenery!

On a walk

I've always wondered wether it is a fly in the middle of the flower. I should know seeing as I took the photo, but I simply cannot remember. What do you think?

Scenic Sunday & Today's Flowers: Corsica

August 2008
Ajaccio, Corsica, France.

While we were walking towards the beach we came across these beautiful cactuses. I have to say that I have never taken to the cactus - not even in my Lucky Luke period *g*- but these have turned me round :o) I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

And experimenting on Picnik using the Lomo-ish(?) effect (click on the photo for a better view of the cactus Ü)

Yummy Sunday

Driving over roads that reminded me of spaghetti (very curvy, turny) we arrived at at one of the most picturesque harbors. It was queit, but not too queit as walked along it's street. The street was lined with little cafe's and restaurant with a few people here and there enjoying the shade of the pergula's, the beach scene below, the beautiful views over the Mediterranean Sea. When we passed a typical Greek blue and white coloured cafe we couldn't resist the temptation and sat down. This was is what we had for lunch *heart* It was just perfect <3>

Watery Wednesday

I'm not too sure wheter this qualifies for watery Wednesdays seeing as there's not much in my photo, but I love it and wanted to share it with you :o) This is the view more or less from our apartment on Crete, Greece last June. Pretty perfect, don't you think? <3 href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUIpxwa4dYtYhOduX6UMyghy_oph2xZ8dyzw5z_9Nd_hDt2I7XM64QNx8fpScHpzQsAPYA9SSjnwE0teevMCzGlNYB6lQD1IA30FNtqoLVStkTA0WEw6xOiN-XDjKCLrGOUsi5Gtz0f52x/s1600-h/Crete+June+2008.jpg">
